Million Dollar Composition - Buy Notes
Would you like to purchase some notes of Internet history? It's
easy! Simply use the form below.
- Select the measure, stave, number and position of the eighth notes you want to contribute to the Million Dollar Music Composition.
- Be creative and go with the flow! Please consider the audience when you're working on the music composition: Remember, we want to reach out to a larger audience and attract them to the music as well as to your advertisements. Try to work with the music that other composers of the Million Dollar Music Composition have submitted.
- Convert your contribution to the Million Dollar Music Composition into notation:
Create an image in the GIF format. Please note that the image must be of correct size for the amount of note(s) you purchase (width 20 x height 86 pixels per eighth note). The musical symbols must be unambigously readable and the note system lines must be aligned with the standard system. Thus for your convenience I recommend the exclusive usage and modification of the correctly sized Note Image Templates. You can add any advertisement image (e.g. your logo) in the upper 500 pixels of advertisement space (width 20 x height 25 pixels) per eighth note you order. - Identify the coordinates for measure, stave and leftmost eighth note in the composition. These coordinates can easily be deduced on the Million Dollar Music Composition homepage: When you have enabled javascript in your browser the coordinates are displayed as tooltip for available notes, when the mouse pointer hovers over the corresponding area. Make sure you are certain, because you can't change it later.
- Identify the coordinates for measure, stave and leftmost eighth note in the composition. Make sure you are certain, because you can't change it later.
- Provide the website URL you would like your graphic linking to (must begin with 'http://' and be compliant with the Terms and Conditions).
- If you feel that the image needs an additional slogan, which will be displayed when the mouse pointer hovers over your image, you have the option to provide this text in the form (ALT/Tooltip text).
- Read the Terms and Conditions section and click the button to acknowledge.
Payment
My only Authorized Payment gateway is: PayPal for smaller amounts (fast, free and secure) and Wire Transfer for larger orders.
PayPal offers ideal payment methods for purchasing notes. Please ensure you order the correct quantity of notes when ordering. Once you are granted your contribution to the Million Dollar Music Composition, you will receive an email notification and the status of the notes you have ordered will change from Available to Reserved. The payment must be received in my PayPal or bank account within 10 days.
General remarks
Current maximum estimated time from clearing the funds to going live on homepage: 48 hours.
It is still worth getting in the queue as early as you can, in order to reserve the prime locations for your note(s) in the Million Dollar Music Composition for the cheapest price:
- The price per Eighth note will increase automatically every time notes are added to the composition (Please consult the FAQ for details).
- If two or more people in the queue ask for the same note(s) in the composition at the same time the person who ordered first will have priority in the list.
- At any point in time I may switch to sell the notes via eBay auctions which might increase the price dramatically (e.g. the final 1000 pixels of Alex Tew's Milliondollarhomepage were sold through an eBay auction, which ended with a winning bid of $38,100).
Terms and conditions
- The minimum purchase is one eighth note, and the maximum purchase is whatever is left. However, the maximum continous advertisement space is limited by 25 pixels height and the measure boundaries corresponding to 160 pixels width (8 eighth notes x 20 pixels).
- By buying my notes, you agree that you do not own any part of the Million $ Composition, the homepage or this site, but rather you are granted the right to submit a note in form of an image plus link which will then be published on the homepage in the respective space you have paid for.
- Please note that when you buy a larger block of consecutive notes there is always the possibility and associated risk that you may be infringing someone's copyright when deciding to proceed with the inclusion of a copyrighted work without permission. By 'buying' my notes, you agree that YOU are liable for any breach of third party copyrights.
- You cannot change the image or link once they are published, so you must be sure of the image, ALT/Tooltip text & link you want on the Million $ Composition homepage, which will be there for at least 5 years. The only exception is if you have a strong reason why you need a change to your image/link, eg. your site no longer exists, major structural change to your site, lawsuits, etc.
- If your note, image and link are accepted and published on the homepage, you cannot get a refund.
- The site and homepage will be online for at least 5 years (starting from the day the domain was registered), so at least until January 29th, 2011, but possibly even longer (that's the aim).
- No obscene/offensive/adult images/links will be accepted, and I decide what is appropriate for my site. If you submit a note, an image or link that is rejected, you will have the opportunity to provide an alternative, otherwise your money will be refunded and you will lose your note(s).
- If your link is accepted and you later change the content of the linked site to show offensive/obscene/adult material then your link will be removed until you provide a new one, and you will not get a refund of any kind for the link downtime.
- If for whatever reason in the future you want your image and link removed from the homepage, you can do that, but you will not get a refund and the space will become publically available again.
- Images must be the exact size (width 20 x height 86 pixels per eighth note you purchase), the musical symbols must be unambigously readable and the note system lines must be aligned with the standard system. However you can add any logo etc. in the upper 500 pixels of advertisement space (width 20 x height 25 pixels) within the area per eighth note you order.
- Images must be in GIF format, and a reasonable file size (max. 50 KB).
- Images must NOT be animated (imagine how messy the composition would look).
- Links must be to web pages only and begin with 'http://'
- You must have the authority to provide the image and link for the website you submit
- Funds must be fully received and cleared before your notes go live on the homepage.
- There might be occasional downtime for site maintenence but I'll try and keep these to a minimum.
- Denial of Service (DDoS) protection/prevention is not included in the customer plan of the Million $ Composition website (In a DDoS attack a website receives a large amount of traffic from a series of computers. The rush typically causes the site to slow down or become completely unresponsive).
- Once you have ordered, your note(s) image and link are accepted and the funds have cleared (eg. in my PayPal or bank account), I will aim to get your notes online within 48 hrs (but please have patience if things take up speed and many of people order at the same time).
